Inside the home of Luna Schulze & Jeppe Vidstrup in Copenhagen
Step into the charming Copenhagen apartment of designer couple Luna Schulze and Jeppe Vidstrup. Together, they have created a space that exudes warmth, personal stories, and a profound respect for craftsmanship.
Luna Schulze is a multidisciplinary designer with a background as a cabinetmaker, now honing her craft through design studies at the Royal Danish Academy. Her partner, Jeppe Vidstrup is a jewelry designer and the founder of Jeppe Vidstrup Jewelry.
Together, the couple has curated their home with meticulous attention to detail and a deep appreciation for objects that carry memories and stories. The couple carefully selects each piece to create a harmonious atmosphere, where heirlooms steeped in family history seamlessly blend with unique finds collected from their travels. Materials like wood, which develop a rich patina over time, take center stage, adding warmth and character to the space. For Luna and Jeppe, their home isn't just a place to live - it's a canvas for aesthetics, functionality, and the stories that make life meaningful.
Luna: We’ve aimed to create a safe, calm, and intimate atmosphere in our home, with warm tones reflected in everything from materials to lighting. The best part of our home is that every object holds a special significance. From items we’ve picked up on our travels to cherished family heirlooms, each holds meaningful memories and stories. I find it deeply comforting to surround myself with furniture and objects that show signs of a life well-lived. For me, caring for, maintaining, and repairing these pieces is essential. There’s a real peace in knowing that most of the objects in our apartment will be with me for the rest of my life.”

Personal designs that shape everyday living
As a designer, Luna has created projects for renowned restaurants such as Alchemist and Bobe and exclusive retail spaces like Lié Studio and Birrot. Her creative approach also extends to the couple's home, where she has crafted several unique details reflecting her refined sense of aesthetics and functionality.
The bespoke kitchen handles originate from Luna's first concept for Project100, an initiative dedicated to creating extraordinary everyday objects in limited editions of 100. With this project, she designed tiny "jewels" for the home that serve as handles and hooks.
Elsewhere, Luna has created a small shelf that doubles as a bedside table, featuring a carved pocket for jewelry - a practical yet personal detail for the bedroom. One particularly meaningful project was the dining table, which Luna built herself while heavily pregnant. Driven by a sudden urge to create something new and lasting, it has become the heart of their home, embodying both her craftsmanship and the couple’s shared values.
Classic heritage meets contemporary design
Among the cherished pieces in their home are vintage J39 chairs, brought by both Luna and Jeppe when they moved in together. For Luna, these chairs carry special significance, having been passed down from her father, who acquired them while studying architecture at the academy in the early 1970s.
"I take pride in maintaining my furniture, but I let our J39 chairs wear their marks and scuffs with pride. It only makes them more beautiful," she explains.
Flexibility is another hallmark of their home. Maria Bruun’s Pioneer Stool, for instance, is a dynamic piece that moves easily between roles.
“Pioneer doesn’t have a fixed place in our home but serves a highly dynamic purpose. We often have guests, and the two Pioneer Stools are perfect for shifting around — from the dining table to the sofa, wherever they’re needed.”
