The home of Ganni founders Ditte and Nicolaj Reffstrup
In Østerbro, Copenhagen, among historic buildings, resides the creative couple behind the renowned Danish fashion brand Ganni.
Ditte and Nicolaj Reffstrup and their three children live in a stunning three-story villa from 1875, designed by the renowned architect Vilhelm Dahlerup, who is also known for his work on the Royal Danish Theatre, the Glyptoteket, and the National Gallery of Denmark.
The renovation of their home has been meticulous, preserving as much of the original character as possible while adapting it to meet modern needs. The house exudes Scandinavian aesthetics and reflects the couple's personal and professional lives.
In their decor, they focus on creating contrasts by combining new with old and blending modern elements with vintage finds. The walls are adorned with an eclectic collection of photo art and colorful tapestries, each piece telling its own story, often sourced from friends and collaborators. This mix of vintage finds and modern design elements creates an intimate and welcoming atmosphere, reflecting the home's unique character in every room.
The family's gathering spot is the kitchen, fitted with lacquered mahogany cabinets inspired by traditional French brasseries. A unique feature is the custom-built steel and glass cabinet, designed in collaboration with Emanuele Stamuli, which casts rainbow-like reflections when light strikes it.
In the dining room, with its beautiful checkered floor, stands an old mid-century table designed by Børge Mogensen. The table is also surrounded by Mogensen's iconic J39 chairs, adding a touch of Danish design history to the space.
