No. 1 Sofa - 3 seater

The No. 1 Sofa was the first sofa series that Mogensen designed for Fredericia, and it marked the start of a close collaboration. The tightly upholstered wooden frame is softened by loose, interchangeable buttoned cushions. It’s all in keeping with Mogensen’s quest to create functional furniture that would enhance people’s everyday lives.

Fully upholstered sofa with seperate seat and back cushions. interchangeable legs of solid wood mounted with metal threads. Inner frame of solid wood and plywood. Interchangeable cushions of solid CMHR or HR foam covered in fabric and mounted with buttons. Covers are non-removable. Back cushions are reversible with fabric on both sides.

Meet the designer

Børge Mogensen (1914-1972) was one of the most influential designers shaping Modern Danish design and Fredericia’s founding designer. He found inspiration worldwide in his quest to create everyday objects that would endure for generations, believing that furniture should create a sense of tranquillity and a modest appearance. He was acclaimed for his masterful sense of materials and proportions, creating designs celebrated and showcased in leading design museums worldwide.
