The J39 Portraits Ida Ravn
Ida Ravn was initially trained as a yoga and meditation teacher but now functions as the creative partner of the takeaway and catering company Easypeacylimonesqueezy founded by chef Stine Kirkegaard in 2020. The company is already locally famous for its artistic and visual approach to dining experiences, good quality food, and delicatessen inspired by Italy. The good taste is also apparent in Ida’s apartment, where every object is carefully considered.
For Ida, furniture is all about longevity and never compromising. Her idea of home is a sanctuary to ground oneself and a loving space to entertain friends around the dining table.
“ To me, it’s essential to think about the longevity of an object, hoping it can stay with me forever. ”

“I love to spend hours searching for interiors, whether online or travelling. Sometimes my boyfriend and I find furniture totally by coincidence, as when stumbling over an interesting gallery hidden away in a backyard happening to have a gorgeous side table. Occasionally, we dream of owning one particular object that would fit our home. We’d rather wait for the right piece rather than compromise, as it needs to feel right for us. We even had a giant crane one time helping with some big lounge furniture we needed to get through our window. When we put our minds to it, there is no turning back. Our living room is a room for conversations. We enjoy entertaining and having friends come over for dinner and wine, just hanging out. At the same time, my home is my sanctuary, where I ground myself and find my inner peace.
We bought our vintage J39 chair two years ago. It was the first piece of furniture we acquired for our apartment, and it felt nice and safe as it’s a chair that will fit almost everywhere. I love how the chair’s beautiful patina complements the old wooden floors of our living room. I also love the fact that it had a previous life before ending up at our place. To me, it’s essential to think about the longevity of an object, hoping it can stay with me forever.
We also have the J39 chairs and the Mogensen C18 table in our Easypeacylimonesqueezy takeaway boutique at Vester Farimagsgade, where the furniture help emphasise our philosophy of good quality and honest materials, just like the food we make and serve.

J39, commonly known as “the people’s chair”, has won the hearts of design enthusiasts worldwide for more than seven decades, and this year it has been 75 years since Børge Mogensen drew his immortal classic.
We mark the anniversary with a series of portraits visiting Copenhagen creatives having the J39 in their homes or studio to chat about what makes good design, creating a particular atmosphere and choosing furniture with the heart.
